Week 35
England-
-It is officially freezing. It was super icy and some frost on the ground this morning. Not too shocking but after the glorious summer we had, it's just crazy to remember that it gets sooooo chilly here. Anyways, this week we worked supes hard and walked so much lol, every night my head would hit my pillow and I was wiped out. Thank goodness for daylight saving time! Extra hour bless but now it gets dark about 5-5:30ish
Funny-
-on Monday for family home evening we had a lil chip party at sister Leslie's (the precious Scottish grandma thay lives next door to the church). It was a fun gathering and sister Leslie was sitting next to Nathan. She starts wiping his chin to get ketchup off but then after a sec he's like what are you doing! He told her it's just a birthmark on his chin hahahaha. She also was so proud to present to me some mini corn dogs that she got hahaha so American! I told her my lil bros live off those things haha
-Another funny thing, so we're chatting it up with this girl outside her door and it's already a funny encounter to begin with, then I hear "well well well what have we here" and I turned around and it was Marcus!! The guy who came to stake conference and said we're going to leave the earth on ships! Hahaha it was so funny to see him, just chillin around Eastwood. He was asking sister Kim if she escaped from north Korea and what not, told me every time he hears my name it reminds him of a submarine. Then he just walked away so nonchalantly to go buy some drugs. It was so random and glad sister Kim got to meet the legend himself
spiritual-
-we got to do some service and sell poppies! every November 11 in England is remembrance day, and for a few weeks leading up to it everyone sells poppies. It was fun to do some service (mind you, in the bitter cold) in Derby. We were supposed to do it with our district, but somehow we ended up getting there way earlier than planned so we just started selling. After 10 min, they sent us a "body guard" for security, gotta protect the sisters lol. But it ended up being awesome selling poppies with our friend Dave, basically just had a 6 hourlong lesson with him haha. He loved learning more about what we believe and what makes us different and hopefully the elders in derby will get to start teaching him!
-I've been really trying this past week to minister to "the one." After p day last week, we were hurrying down the high street and a lady passed and I just hurried and handed her a Facebook card and told her it has really uplifting messages on it. She looked at me with tears in her eyes and said, "oh thank you so much! I am a police officer and just had an awful shift and dealing with horrible things, but this is just is the sign I needed tonight that someone's looking out for me" wow I just told her how much God loves her and everything's gonna be okay. A few days later, we saw her on duty and she ran up to us (scared me for a sec when a policewoman runs after you lol) and thanked us for stopping her, it helped so much. You just never know! I'm honored to be a part of Heavenly fathers work to help bless his children here on earth.
-Ive learnt this week, it's okay not to be perfect. You know me, miss perfectionist. But if we were already perfect, we wouldn't need to come to earth and experience all these things! I'm grateful for the plan God has for us and that he gives us so many chances to keep improving. It's never too late to change and be better.
-I was catching up on general conference, and i love President Eyrings talk "try try try." read it and weep, you know I did.
Presh moment-
-Jose traveled all the way from lil village Ossett up north down to Eastwood yesterday for church!!! I cannot tell you how happy it made my heart to see him in his suit and so happy and thriving with the gospel. I really have met the best people here on my mission and I can't wait to continue meeting more! I can't believe how fast time is flying by! Hope you all have a spooky Halloween hehe
