Week 15

England:

-in england they say funny words, as you all know. My favs from this week were chicken goujons=chicken strips/nuggets, thick=dumb, and cuddle=hug.

Funny:

-so the whole mission was having a fast, and that same day there was cake auction for our wards young men/young women camp fundraiser. So sis and I go, but just to chat with an investigators/ward members. Bad idea lol..... so many beautiful tempting delish looking cakes and treats.. but no worries cause the ward members spoil us and when we were leaving they handed us a bag of greatest showman cupcakes and cheesecake and brownies to eat later. Bless being a missionary

-everynight we call our district leader to follow up on the day and make sure we got home safe etc. We're talking to elder price, and I start telling him one of my stories from the day and then we get a call from a private number that kept trying to call us that day, so we were like hey we'll call back in a sec! So I go to accept it and I just push declined! What's my problem! Lol I was so confused did not mean to, and then all the sudden I look out the window and a HEDGEHOG had emerged and i was like ahh a hedgehog! Sister Cook and I were freaking out so excited and all the sudden elder price says what is going on! Hahahaha poor guy forgot we were talking to him. Then I had to finish telling the story I was saying. It was the craziest funniest lil weird moment. We literally had a hedgehog in our back garden! Idk where it came from but it was so incredible made me day

-my family has a tradition whenever we're done reading the book of mormon together, we say "bom bom bom" haha. So I started saying it when we read with Jose, and he'd be so confused. But now he's saying bom bom bom at the end after so yeah passing on the tradition :)

-you wanna laugh how embarrassing I am? Well, other day we go out and start talking to people, then I look at my bag and see that it had made my skirt ride up like totally exposing me. Rip just going around Horbury like that. I laughed so hard but low key way embarassed if anyone saw :/

Spiritual:

- so back track to my very first week in the field. We knocked a street, and one lady opened the door and had a dark look in her eyes and looked at our badges and said "I don't believe in Jesus" and slammed the door. Ooooookay..... fast forward to this week, knocking right by that street. Saw a man in the back of some houses, talked to him, another guy came out and then his partner/wife came out and she looked familiar.. ended up setting up a return appointment for this week with them. Haha pretty sure it was the same lady that didn't believe in Jesus... glad she's changed her mind :)

-talked to a bloke named Lee in a little village called netherton. He's really religious and believes in God, but has a lot of addictions. As we were talking to him, I was realising that even if we have a strong relationship with God, we also need to have a strong relationship with Christ, that's how we can really be healed and cleansed. Yeah Idk it's just something I was thinking about this week, i love Jesus

-i was reading Alma 58 this week about the stripling warriors, and remembered last summer when I decided to go on a mission. I was reading that chapter and just felt so strongly that I needed to go on a mission! Fast forward to now, I love that chapter and remembering how valiant and incredible those 2000 stripling warriors were to have full faith to fight for their families. I Love verses 10-11 that talks about how we can have peace even when it feels like the world around us is crumbling. It's a good one check it out

Tears:

-yesterday there was a guy who was really savage, saying we were brainwashed and slaves to our religion, how could we really know God is there, we were wrong to think that, etc. It was so hard not to get fired up :) but we just testified that we KNOW what we know, and can't deny it. Actually, believing in god makes us free! So boom

-declan.. :( tears. He got a job this week, and so that's chill. But he kept falling asleep and missing our lessons, and we went to his house to teach him and it was fine, he said he was excited for his baptism and wanting to start planning it. But then. We get a call from his mom the next day (from his phone) and saying he can't meet anymore, not getting baptised..... uh uh what. We tried calling and texting, so confused but he never responded. We went to his house and his mom wouldnt let us see him, so Idk what's gonna happen. He was supposed to get baptised this next Saturday:/ we feel like he was really feeling it but his mum must have convinced him not to. So yeah we're sad but hey it's all good!

Joys:

-theres a cute young mum in our ward whose house is super old and got moth infestation! So mingin (disgusting) so we helped her strip her wallpaper, it was actually very satisfying and fun. I liked it

-we had a pizza party with some girls from the ward, it was so fun. Fun to be with cute teenagers hehe

-got to watch the restoration movie on a members giant home movie screen with Jose and Declan

-went to leeds for a meeting for sister cook, i went out on a trio blitz lol pretty fun!

-hiked up to castle hill today for p day, ya know like ed sheerans castle on the hill, yeah that one :) it was pretty, I love england
