Week 14
England:
-first of all, we got news sat night that sister cook and I are staying in Horbury for another transfer together! What what boom. This is her last transfer :'( I'm determined to make it the best ever. We're gonna work so hard!
-everyone in england irons everything. Like even some people iron their g's haha. Very nice
-I have some very saddening news. Remember Tilly, the fattest dog I've ever known? She died this past week :( its actually kinda good cause she was so sick and obese and so now she is in dog heaven. Poor Ann and Carol are really sad though, we're gonna visit them this week and send our love
-there's an old jail cell right by our flat from 1770s, and one day walking home and started talking to this guy and he showed us inside the jail.. It's just storage now but cool to be inside a jail cell straight off the street yo
Funny:
-was told by our Irish next door neighbour that I look like I'm from the middle east.... what
-there was a guy talking on the phone so we handed him a mormon.org card and walked away, a few min later he runs after us and was like (pardon my french) "hey I'm really pissed right now why did you give me this card?" I looked at him so confused, he didn't seem that angry.... lol my comp acts so chill, apparently that just means he's super drunk.... lol anyways it actually was cool, he said he felt really strongly like he needed to talk to us and ask what the card was about, and he promised he'd check it out when he was sober again. Which he said he drinks every single night so rip
-so back story, met this lady on the bus way long time ago named Goody from Zimbabwe, we've seen her a few times around town since then but never really anything else. But one day she just randomly called us and asked for our help, so we went to her flat and helped her paint her kitchen walls.... bright orange.... Haha. And found out her name isn't goody, it's kudzi lol. She's very strong in her faith of Jesus Christ, but were gonna try to start teaching her bits as we help her make her house nice and beautiful, next time we'll put in the tiles!! Woo
Spiritual:
-def the highlight of this week was Jose's baptism!!!!! AHHHHHHHH! My first one! It was so special. Oh yes. this whole week we were soooooooo busy prepping everything but it turned out great. He was so nervous, but so happy. It was fun cause the zone leaders came and the Wakefield and Dewsbury elders from our district with some of their investigators, and of course a good amount from the ward and ysa came too, good support. I gave a talk on the gift of the Holy Ghost, and sister cook sang a gorgeous song called come unto Christ. It was so spiritual, I wanted to bawl lol but I held it together. The Wakefield lad's friend waseem was bawling during the song tho haha he's awesome. Anyways, yes and everything went so smooth and Jose's testimony he bore was so good, he told the funny story of how we met him and testified that as he started praying and reading the book of Mormon and coming to Church, is how his dormant faith was awakened. Also, as he kept commandments he was able to continue strengthening his faith. Ugh amazing. His confirmation at church was great too, besides the fact that all the babies decided to scream right then lol. But hey the spirit was still there so we good. He even showed up wearing a tie, no one told him to it was so precious
-another highlight was that our friend Susan came to the baptism and church! We have been trying to get her to come for forever! She really loved the baptism, and church she even brought her friend! Boom yeah. Also this random lady Angela came to the baptism too, really unexpected but awesome she came haha!
-declan! He's getting baptised in two weeks! We had a lesson with one of the assistants to the president and a zone leader with him, on the day of Jose's baptism..... ummm so stressful!!!!! I was so nervous and intimidated, But it actually went really well, we taught word of wisdom. The other lessons we've been having with him have been great also, and we even moved up his date to the 16th of June! So pray that the adversary will not influence him and he can stay strong. He's lovin church and even showed up in nice trousers and button up shirt yesterday.... But then rolls out of church on his bike in shorts, sunglasses and shirtless.. bless him
-you know how we all need food to survive, obviously. But we also need nourishment for our spirits too, like scripture study and prayer. ive been thinking of ways that i can spice up my daily bread of scripture study, to make it more exciting and meaningful. Any suggestions? Thanks y'all
Hey I love you all! Be happy and have a good week! Happy summer!!!!!
