Week 10

England-
-this weekend the villages around Horbury are celebrating mayday and spring! It was so fun to see everyone in the mayday parade procession through ossett, and they have a maypole and giant fair and everyone is out of school and work today for a bank holiday and its beautiful and sunny outside, so nice :)
-since it has been so nice outside these past few days, everyone (for the most part, besides a few savage responses) has been really nice, one guy even gave us little smooches on the cheek.. he was maybe a little too nice... awk
Funny-
-you'll see in the pics we did some gardening for Winston in our ward. Haha he's so presh, he wanted to do a little photo shoot by the rubbish bin afterwards. Bless him
-we went running the other day in the morning and were stretching by the church of england church thats across from where we live, and a postman rides by on his bike and was like "hello sam and makenna" my comp and I looked at each other so confused like what do we know him, did we tell him our first names lol strange
-ugh so at zone conference we were trying to gather all our stuff up and couldn't find our phone anywhere, we looked everywhere in the whole church building and couldn't find it, we kept calling it on other phones but couldnt find it. We were a smidge bit concerned cause 1)we had no way to contact our ifriends, and 2) didn't want to have to pay for a new one. But we kinda thought someone must have accidentally taken it so we weren't too worried. We borrowed one of the zone leaders phones, which was funny cause people kept calling it and were so confused when two sisters answered haha. Anyways, we had the zone leaders phone most of my bday and then did a lil switch cause another pair of sisters ended up taking ours accidentally haha. It was weird and funny.
-people in england use scissors to cut food, like pizza... it's strange but surprisingly works really well lol
-also, we had pizza fed to us by the members for five days straight this week......... rip
-we read the bom with ann and carol yesterday, and had to get a lil selfie with them. They are so funny and presh bless them.
Spiritual-
-I felt like the sister Bascom show at zone conf because I had to lead to music (they always ask me to do it and I have zero idea what I'm doing Lol) then I got randomly chosen to give a three minute talk about attacking the day, haha I just went up and shared a random scripture and told about how sis cook and I run every morning and it awakes our minds so we can attack the day.. It was bad and I couldn't stop nervous laughing rip. Everyone loves to take the Mick out of me here Haha! But the rest of zone conf was good, I was feeling down about being a missionary, but it was the perfect pick me up. I got more motivated to teach more simply and that I just have to be myself and authentic and things will be fab!
- we also had stake conf this weekend, way good. Jose came with us. He's getting baptised June 1! It was so presh, at the Saturday night adult session, he got to meet President and Sister Turvey and told them he's getting baptised and they were so excited and talking to him. He's progressing so well! And at stake conf I shared some candy with him and he said "church is true" haha just like Glen lol. But he really truly believes it and its cool to see his faith grow! Boom yeah
-this week I was thinking about how Christ would act if he was walking the streets of England. Like everytime I see people on the street in a big group or on the phone or make another excuse not to bother people, but then I imagine what Christ would do! He'd stroll right up and heal them and minister to them. Obvi I can't actually heal people but I can share with them what can change their lives forever. So yes, I'm working on It! Everyone deserves the gospel:)
Joys-
-got to go to institute with Jose this week, it was the senior couple elder Burnetts last time teaching it and Jose loved it. He even answered some of the trivia questions elder burnett asked about general conf! So boom
- the bday video!!!!!! I seriously can't stop thinking about it. It was the preshest thing ever. Made me so giddy and happy to see your faces!!!!! Ugh :)
- we stayed over in huddersfield on Sat night for stake conf and they surprised me and had pizza (yet again lol) and yummy cake and decorations! It was so cute! Love em
